Ames police said Monday that they have located the driver and vehicle involved in this incident but did not identify the driver. Police said they continue to investigate.

The Ames Police Department is looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a woman and killed a dog.
According to Ames police, officers were called to in the 2100 block of Oakwood Road early Tuesday morning on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Police found an injured woman and an injured dog in the roadway. Police said the woman was transported to a local hospital with a serious head injury. The dog died a short time later, according to police.
Police said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived. They found a broken passenger side mirror at the scene and are now looking for a dark gray Subaru missing the passenger side mirror.
